(Face the outgoing commander)

OFFICIATOR:

"Department of the Army, Headquarters, by Special Order, Signed (Julian Higgins, Captain), United States Army 3rd Infantry Division, (Commanding). Effective immediately, (2nd Lt Giles) relinquishes command of the (2nd Platoon, 3rd Infantry Division).

OUTGOING COMMANDER: (2nd Lt Giles)

(salutes) "Sir, I relinquish my command"

(Face the incoming commander)

OFFICIATOR:

"Department of the Army, Headquarters, by Special Order, Signed (Julian Higgins, Captain), United States Army 3rd Infantry Division, (Commanding). Effective (immediately), (2nd Lt Giles) assumes command of the (1st Platoon 3rd Infantry Division)."

NEW COMMANDER: (2nd Lt Giles)

(salutes) "Sir, I assume command"
