Promotion Review Board

This was presented to the command staff March 7th, 2005, by Giles. This concept was acknowledged, but overlooked.

Proposal

A soldier is called before this board once he reaches the minimum alloted point total for the next rank. The board would consist of the Captain (or Lt. Hunkeler), the First Sergeant, the soldier's platoon leader and the soldier's platoon sergeant. When called before the board, the soldier will be made aware that he has achieved the alloted point total for the next rank and will be asked if he has completed all the necessary requirements for the rank. Should he answer truthfully, he will be told what he has or has not achieved and will be asked if he feels comfortable with the position he will be given. Should he answer affirmatively, he will be put up for promotion for the next Saturday drill. The promotion would be handed out by either the Captain, the XO, or the platoon leader. If neither is present that day, then the board can discuss further measures.
