Proposal
The Stockade is where we put troublemakers. Those soldiers who commit rule infractions or are guilty of conduct unbecoming are placed in the Stockade. It is not an actual place, but rather a set of annoying circumstances that apply to any soldier in the stockade.
Rules
- Soldiers in the Stockade are barred from participating in any scrimmages or matches.
- Soldiers receive no medals for any actions committed while in the stockade.
- Soldiers in the Stockade will be overlooked for promotion.
- Soldiers in the Stockade are not allowed a single unexcused drill absence.
- Soldiers in the Stockade must not commit another infraction.
If a soldier is to receive a medal for time served while in the stockade, it will be awarded as soon as possible when the soldier leaves the Stockade.
STEP 1
Sentencing
Rule infractions are handled on a case-by-case basis. When a soldier commits an infraction, an officer may put him in the Stockade, and decide his sentence. This sentence consists of a time, and a set number of consecutive drills to attend. One of these must be met for the soldier to get out of the stockade, not both. The issuing officer must post this information in a new thread in the Stockade forum.
Proper Format
Thread Title
- Sentencing for <Rank> <Name>
Thread Body
- <Rank> <Name> has been placed in the Stockade for <reason>. The duration of his sentence is <Time> or <Number> consecutive drills.
The issuing officer must cite a specific infraction when placing a soldier in the Stockade. An NCO may not place a soldier in the stockade, but may petition an officer to do so. An officer may overturn a lower ranking officer’s sentencing, or issue his own, to replace the current one.
STEP 2
Serving
While in the stockade, a soldier is treated as a troublemaker. NCOs are to report any infractions or slip-ups to the Command Staff. If a soldier, while in the stockade, commits another infraction, an extra, harsher sentence shall be added to the current one. If a soldier, while in the stockade, has an unexcused drill absence, an extra one month and 5 consecutive drills are added to his current sentence. In some cases, a discharge may be necessary.
STEP 3
Getting out
Once either part of the sentence has been met, the issuing officer will post that the soldier is out of the Stockade. The original thread will be used. This must happen as soon as possible. Any Time In Service medals the soldier may have missed while in the Stockade will be awarded at the next drill. Any other medals he may have been eligible for while in the Stockade are not awarded. The soldier returns to normal active duty.
Minor offenses
Minor offenses, requiring only a few days in the Stockade, do not have to have a drill requirement. Disruptive behavior at drills, for instance, may only merit 3 days in the stockade. Alternatively, the Command Staff may issue a sentence in drills, perhaps only 1 or 2. The maximum time for a sentence with no drills is 1 week. The maximum number of drills for a sentence with no time is 2.
Limitations on the Command Staff
The Command Staff can not order both a time and a set number of drills to be met. It is "either or." The Command Staff must cite a specific infraction to be punished. An officer must issue the order; an NCO may not. Officers may overturn a lower ranking officer's sentence. The only other option for dealing with behavior is a discharge.
Duties of NCOs Regarding the Stockade
NCOs are required to know who is in the Stockade at all times. They are to keep an eye on those persons, and they should treat them slightly harsher than usual. NCOs are to report to an officer if one of those persons commits another infraction.
